Our daily lives are running on survival mode so much that we ignore the fact how unproductive and unhealthy lifestyle we all are living. As much as we want to procrastinate and crash the bed, it’s not healthy. Being productive is what we all aim towards.
It is necessary to pause and look upon all the things we are doing just out of habit which in turn harm our overall health. Look at the habits that you should change or remove altogether. This is something that requires a lot of efforts, because I know you’ll come up with the excuse that saying is easier than doing but changes in your lifestyle that would benefit you in a long term is the need of the hour.
So, here are some easy and adaptable ways you can change yourself and lead a productive life:
1.Plan the day before
After completing your day’s chores, sit back with a pen and paper and plan your next day, write down the things you need to do, tasks you need to complete in a form of checklist. This will help you be on track of things and in deciding what to do. Effectively manage your time to complete all the chores.
2. 8 hours of sleep
For you to function properly the next day, a good night’s sleep is important. While the advise is to have 8 hours of sleep at least, some people work great with 6 or 7 hours of sleep too. As a result, it will boosts productivity.
3. Wake up early
Waking up early has a lot of benefits- you’re more energetic, plenty of time to do some of your chores before the world wakes up, lifts your mood, brightens your whole day. It can seem like a tough job to do but being consistent with waking up early eventually forms a habit, helping you in long term.
4. Divide your time in chunks
Instead of stretching your tasks throughout the day, divide your tasks in time chunks or blocks. This will help you to have time for yourself and enough time for any unforeseeable tasks that may arise. It is important to know that being productive does not mean being busy all the time, it means dividing your time effectively so that it doesn’t take up your whole day leaving you exhausted at night.
5. Eliminate all distractions/communication
As much tempting it is to check that notification right away, we know that’s a black hole where one text leads to a whole conversation and one meme on instagram can end up in mindless scrolling for hours. So, to avoid any distraction while working, switch off your phone or turn off your internet when you sit to work. There is a high possibility that you will get your work done before or on time without those distractions.
6. Exercise & eat healthy
Exercising has its own benefits that can boost your productivity. A 10 minute morning workout or Yoga sets the mood for the whole day just right, along with keeping you active throughout. Eating healthy will eliminate any lethargy because of eating junk food and health risks too. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is what goes a long way.
7. Use the pomodoro technique
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. This Technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. It helps a lot of people in doing things faster and effectively.
8. A calm & clean working environment
The place or space you work in greatly impacts your productivity. Make sure the work space is clean & organized along with a calm surrounding. You don’t want to be constantly get disturbed , for instance, things falling from your desk or spilling coffee all over.

People often underestimate the power of a reading routine. This is something that can put you 5 years ahead in life. No matter how old or knowledgeable you think you are, it is always good to take out 20 mins of your day and read. Therefore, sharpens your mind.
